Aruba Real Estate

Aruba is part of the Lesser Antilles in the southern Caribbean and is located 27 km north of Venezuela. Known for its desert-like climate, Aruba is situated out of the hurricane path next to Bonaire and Curaçao, which form a group of islands referred to as the ABC islands.

Aruba gained independence from the now defunct Netherlands Antilles in 1086.  The island’s economy has been dominated by five main industries: gold mining, phosphate mining, aloe export, petroleum refineries and tourism.

The official language is Dutch but the cultural mixture has given rise to a linguistic mixture known as Papiamento and is recognized as an official language in Aruba, although you will hear English spoken throughout the island as well.

Duty free shopping, gambling at one of the many casinos, golfing the Robert Trent Jones II golf course, or exploring the national parks and historic Oranjestad, the capitol are activities that visitors enjoy.
