The Beef Island Airport (EIS) is located at East End, a strip of land adjoining Tortola.  The largest airplanes served are turboprops for intra-Caribbean flights. Major Caribbean connector flights for larger intercontinental jets are through San Juan, Puerto Rico and St. Thomas in the nearby US Virgin Islands. Alternatively there are regularly scheduled ferries connecting most of the Virgin Islands.
