The twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago is located in the southern Caribbean, lying just 7 miles off the coast of Venezuela. Their proximity to South America and their mixture of mountains and plains, makes Trinidad & Tobago a prime "birding" destination. Trinidad is the larger and more populous of the two islands. The capitol city in Trinidad is Port of Spain, and the main town in Tobago is Scarborough. Both islands lie outside the hurricane belt.
